Traffic Canada App Reviews

Ok, could be better

Map view is NOT scalable and so adds no value because the view is cluttered when viewing Toronto area. Should be able to move from camera to camera w/o having to return to list view. Would be nice if we could select traffic summary map view maintained by MTO

Nice application, unreliable data

The application has evolved nicely since I first purchased it. I particularly like the new features added to version 3.0 - including the ability to zoom and pan using familiar iPhone gestures and the addition of cross-hairs showing the currently location. These enchancements show that the developer listens to his customers. On the downside, Ive found that there are occasionally issues with the camera feeds, at least here in Vancouver. Over the Christmas holidays some of the feeds werent updated for days rendering the application useless during this time. Im guessing that the developer doesnt have any control over the reliability of the camera feeds - I recommend that he include a disclaimer in the description of the application indicating that they cant guarantee up-to-date images. Overall, though, I think this application is worth $1.99 - especially since it covers so many cities. Most of the time the cameras delivers reasonably up-to-date photos (within 15 minutes of the current times). For those times that it doesnt theres always the good old fashioned traffic reports on the radio.

iPerfect

Works in Oakville, ON. Is exactly what I wanted. Before I had a couple MTO maps bookmarked in Safari, but always found myself needing to look up new ones depending on where I was going. So far, this has worked perfectly. Update: been using this for months now. It is a huge assistance and very reliable. Newest update awesome! Keep up the good work.

excellent update!!!!!

finally the update we have been waiting for has arrived. map view now allows scrolling and zooming with familiar pinchand swipe gestures. only suggestion would be to improve map interface. is smoother scrolling of map and auto to camera when pin selected.

Need camera for Pattalo bridge in surrey

No camera for pattalo bridge cant believe this pattalo is crossed by thousonds every day n I take pattalo every Morning to work so I was very disappointed with this app

Great product

With the map update this is one of the best!

Love this

Very useful (...and a little bit voyeuristic.) Works as described (for Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec at least. Ive not tried it elsewhere).

Traffic Report

I wish traffic report to be added as the US traffic. Let me know

Great.but..,,,

Nice app however. Sometimes its very to know the direction of cameras. Would someone fix this in the future?

Edmonton??

Edmontons a pretty major city and the capital of Alberta. I figure since Calgarys up there, we should be too. Hopefully this is included in the next update. Works great though.

It works fine in Calgary!

I got this app a month ago and it works fine each and every time with no crashes so far and for the post below it works in Calgary just fine.It is a must have for anybody in a big city .

Great App, Excellent Price

Great function, usability and coverage. Comments on individual cameras are unfair as these are beyond control of developers. Great way to get multi city traffic in one bundle. No complaints. Keep the cameras coming.

Fantastic app, incredible price, great service

This is a FANTASTIC app, and is one of main apps I show others when showing off my iPhone. I live in North Vancouver, BC, and it makes my life so much easier to be able to plan my routes through Metro Vancouver wherever I may be. Adding a search function would be nice, but not crucial. That said, the technical support from the company is great --- when I report a traffic camera is "down" (probably due to a URL change), they fix the issue within a few hours and email me confirmation. How often do you get service like that these days?

Key bridges missing, not very usefull for worst commutes

Unfortunately, there are no camera feeds on the Quebec side. So this app is not usefull at all in the province of Quebec. But even worse, there are no camera feeds showing the 5 majors bridges that connect Ottawa to Gatineau/Hull. Being that taking the right bridge at the right moment is key to avoiding 45 minute commutes, and that this app doesnt inform me of what is happening on the major traffic chokepoints, I dont see when Ill be using this app anytime soon.

Mappin it up

PLEASE add Edmonton! Then you will get 5 stars from me.

Few bugs still

This would get a solid 4 stars if it didnt have a couple annoying bugs 1: when viewing a traffic cam touching at to favs needs to be pressed many times before it actually adds it 2: cannot acces the cam from map view tried a tap on the pin and double tap no go Works great in list mode though Now if the above mentioned bugs get fixed I would give this 4 stars if it also knew where the photo radar and speed on green cameras were (Im in Calgary) then this app would be 7 stars IMO

Needs improvement

We need to be able to sort the list view alphabetically. And we need to just tap on a map pin to see the cam, not click another button after that to see it. And the map magnification should be more local to your location, not show a map of the whole region the size of a dime. That takes too much tapping til you can differentiate the pins, and takes too much time and attention while driving.

Slow

Needs an option to start up showing the bookmarks rather than wasting time and bandwidth to load all the cameras in my city before I can switch to the bookmarks. The bookmarks is where 99% of us want to be. We drive the same route every morning and evening unless traffic makes us change it up.

Ok, but not great

Works as suggested. However, for Ottawa it lists a large number of cams but until about 20% of them seem to work (MTO cams). I have never heard of cameras at the other locations so I wonder if it is real data?

Message to developer

Please add support for Edmonton, AB. Thanks!
